An island with a story

Zeeburgerpad is not just any place in Amsterdam. It was once an expansive polder. In the 19th century, it took on a new purpose: an industrial peninsula for businesses and crafts. Over the years, the strip was extended several times to support economic growth. That rich history is still tangible today. In its transformation into a mixed-use residential and work area, the rugged character of the peninsula will be preserved — think robust materials, industrial details, and the retention of historic buildings.

Food, drinks, and shopping within walking distance

Everything you need is right around the corner. Within minutes you can walk to the Indische Buurt, one of Amsterdam’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. The popular Javastraat is filled with shops, international stores, and trendy cafés. Whether you’re looking for fresh herbs, a good cup of coffee, or your new favourite restaurant — you’ll find it all here.

A bit further lies the Dappermarkt, one of the city’s most famous markets. With around 200 stalls offering fresh produce, clothing, and exotic treats, it’s a favourite among locals and visitors alike.

On the other side of the peninsula, you’ll find Cruquiuseiland — a modern city district where you can shop for groceries, work out, or enjoy a drink by the water. Fancy something local? Check out the historic windmill at the Funenkade, where authentic Amsterdam craft beer is brewed.

Green spaces just around the corner

Need a break? Within 10 minutes by bike, you’re at Oosterpark or Flevopark — ideal for sports, picnics, or simply enjoying nature. Flevopark even has an outdoor swimming pool. Closer to home, you can relax by the quay at Cruquiuseiland, overlooking the expansive harbour.
